Accepting Christ is like receiving a birthday gift. On our birthday, our earthly parents give us beautiful gifts. These gifts are never harmful or ugly. When our parents give us a gift, they wrap it up and make it pretty. They hold it out in front of them and wait for us to come and take it from them.

This is similar with God, the Father. He holds out the “greatest gift of all”, Eternal Life through Jesus Christ, His son. God presents it to us, waiting for us to receive it. We must ACT to receive this gift and then thank Him for it, exactly as we would with our earthly parents.

Accept who we are (a sinner) and accept what Jesus Christ did for us (died for the punishment of our sins.)
Confess that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior and ask him to come and live within your heart.
Testify to others what Christ has done for you.

      There is more

Upon our acceptance of Him, Christ then holds out many, other boxes. They are filled with beautiful blessings both large and small. We get to choose which ones we want. Each box has a portion of the desires of our heart. The Bible tells us Jesus wants to give us all of the desires of our heart. If we allow Jesus to show us which box to choose, we will receive the box which completely satisfies all our desires. If we disregard Jesus’ advice and choose something else, He will still bless us with it. However, it will not
satisfy our desires. What sometimes seems to be the worst choice or box, can be God’s best. Our faith in God’s promises, found in the Bible(God’s Word) are tested at this point. As time goes on we realize this box which seems worthless is actually God’s best for our lives. In receiving this box, we find that it has more than could ever be imagined.

Accept what Jesus offers you, and you will never be sorry. He is the one who created you and only wants the best for you.

      John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

      Romans 10:9-10
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

      1 John 5:11-13
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
